Pakistan IT and Science Ministers Opposes PUBG Ban

PUBG Ban

Pakistan’s IT minister Amin ul Haque and Minister of Science and Technology Ch Fawad Hussain opposed PTA ban on PUBG mobile game. PUBG mobile, a multiplayer online game which is one of the most played games on mobile phones was banned in Pakistan in June after multiple cases of suicides were reported in the country. Parents and police demanded an immediate ban on the game and PTA banned the game temporarily.

Petitions were filed in High Courts to lift ban on the game, Islamabad high court reserved its verdict on the decision of unbanning PUBG last week and decisions is expected any day now.

IT Minister in his comment on PUBG Ban stated “Only the Cabinet Division could comment regarding the ban on PUBG”.

Ch Fawad Hussain the minister of science and technology said “Such attitude is killing the tech industry, we cannot afford such bans.” He expressed hope that IT Minister Haque would take note of it and the PTA would be instructed not to encourage such bans as they hinder technological growth in the long run.

Coronavirus not only halted economic activities but also paused the sports activities from all around the world. The biggest sports event, Tokyo Olympics was postponed. International Football major tournament like Euro Cup 2020 and Copa de America was also postponed. The domestic football leagues like English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1 was also postponed. The stadiums were converted into medical facilities in Europe and South America.  One of the biggest domestic cricket tournaments PSL was canceled before semifinals and finals and players were sent back to their homes. IPL the biggest domestic Cricket League was also postponed; major international cricket matches were also postponed. Now that the situation is under control In Europe the sports activities are resuming but with no crowds.

English Premier League resumed in June and Liverpool managed to win the league after two decades. La Liga the Spanish football league is also in its last phase with Real Madrid on the brink of victory defeating Barcelona the former Champions. French Football league Ligue 1 was canceled and PSG was declared champion on the basis of points. Juventus is leading the Serie A table and is few matches away from becoming the champions of Italy. Bundesliga is dominated by Bayern Munich with Lewandowski as a top scorer.

UEFA Champions League is to be resumed in August with quarters and semifinals reduced to single-leg games. The draws were released by UEFA on Friday.

International cricket has also resumed in England. West Indies arrived in England in June and the first Test match started on July 8, 2020. England Scored in 204 and 313 in two innings while West Indies scored 318 in first innings and now are chasing the target of 200. Pakistan’s cricket team is also in England and will face Netherlands and Ireland before facing England in August.

Domestic cricket has also revived in England whereas sports activities in the US, South America and Asia are still suspended due to worse Coronavirus situations. While Europe has resumed the sports activities it is expected to be continued without crowd throughout the year. Other countries have also announced to resume sports activities after coronavirus is controlled.

Based on the novel of the same name, Sacred Games is an Indian crime, mystery and thriller Netflix TV series directed by Vikramaditya and Anurag Kashyap. The story surrounds two main characters Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and a former gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazudin Siddiqi). The two season epic consists of 16 episodes, a journey to save the city from the disaster within 25 days. It was also nominated for the prestigious Emmy awards.

2. Mirzapur (2018) (Amazon)

Mirzapur is an Indian Thriller crime TV series available on Amazon Prime Video, directed by Karan Anshuman starring Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal. The story revolves around the rules and governance of mafia don with involvement in drugs and guns and his encounter with two middle class youngsters. Season 1 was released in 2018 with 9 episodes and renewed for season 2 after highly anticipated all over.

3. Panchayat (2020) (Amazon)

Panchayat is a comedy drama web series on Amazon prime video, created by Deepak Mishra starring Jitendra Kumar and Neena Gupta. The story is about a graduate engineer who joins as a panchayat secretary in the remote village of Phulera due to lack of better jobs in the city. The web series is about the new life and atmosphere he faced and adopted. Panchayat was highly appreciated in India for its story and direction.

4. Delhi Crime (2019) (Netflix)

Delhi Crime is a drama crime web series written and directed by Richie Mehta starring Shefali Shah. The series is based on the true events of the famous 2012 Delhi Gang Rape. The story of brutality on a young girl in a bus and its aftermath. A female police officer is given the task to find out the culprits of the rape and death of an innocent. The writer has also announced another season with a new story.

5. Paatal Lok (2020) (Amazon)

Paatal Lok is a crime thriller TV series created by Three state films starring Jaideep Ahlawat. The story is based on the novel “The Story of My Assassins” by Tarun Tejpal.

The story surrounds the post scenario of an assassination attempt of a journalist gone wrong. A low-rank police officer is handed over the case to hide the facts but he is firm to crack it. Paatal Lok received many positive reviews and declared one of the best crime thriller produced in India.

As the world is destroyed by the light of the sun these passengers must follow the night and avoid the sun in order to survive.

The story is about the brutality of New York City Police Department for the minorities. The TV series was highly appreciated and was awarded with 2 prime time Emmy awards.
